Personal interests

Michael has practiced as a personal injury solicitor since his admission in 1996. He has developed a specialised practice in defending public liability claims, acting on behalf of workers compensation insurers and self insurers and defending work injury damages claims.

Michael also provides detailed and timely advice to clients on issues including liability, apportionment and quantum, and has extensive experience conducting complex multi-party settlement negotiations involving significant sums of money.

 

Michael's areas of expertise include:

  • defending public liability claims;
  • representing employers in workers’ compensation litigation;
  • common law litigation arising out of workplace injuries;
  • defending major claims in the Dust Diseases Tribunal of NSW on behalf of a major manufacturer of asbestos containing products, employers and occupiers; and
  • pursuing and defending claims for recovery pursuant to s.151Z.

Michael is admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of NSW, a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of the ACT, and as a solicitor of the High Court of Australia.

Michael was admitted to practice in 1996 and joined Lander & Rogers in 2006.
