Professional biography

Personal interests

Samantha has a wealth of experience in insurance law.  She has practised in all areas of general insurance litigation including personal injury, public and products liability, property damage and professional indemnity.  She has also represented public and private sector clients in coronial inquests, which often attract media interest and invariably require sensitive management.

Samantha has provided strategic advice to WorkSafe Victoria in the conduct, litigation and management of workers' compensation claims.  Her focus is on providing a rapid and detailed assessment of potential liability and, where appropriate, negotiating the prompt resolution of claims in order to minimise unnecessary defence costs.

Currently, Samantha principally practises in the area of medical negligence, advising and representing the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority.

Samantha's areas of expertise include:

  • medical negligence;
  • personal injury litigation;
  • coronial inquests;
  • public and products liability;
  • general insurance; and
  • workers' compensation.

Samantha was admitted to practice in 1993 and joined Lander & Rogers in 2009.
