Torrens Assurance Levy to be abolished in July

The Torrens Assurance Levy will be abolished when the Real Property Amendment (Torrens Assurance Levy Repeal) Bill 2011 (NSW) comes into effect on 1 July 2011.  This means that the levy will no longer apply to transfers under contracts for sale of land dated on or after 1 July 2011.  Purchasers of property in NSW may want to consider delaying the exchange of contracts until 1 July 2011 to take advantage of the abolition of the levy. Read full article...
