Family & Relationship Law at Lander & Rogers officially largest team of specialists in Australia.
Congratulations to our Family & Relationship Law team members Stephanie Doyle, Dara Isaacson, Liz Kofoed, Courtney Sims, and Sarah Wainwright on attaining their Accredited Specialisation in Family Law. This is recognised as a significant achievement for any practitioner specialising in the area of family and de facto relationship law. Having five newly Accredited Family Law Specialists within the team takes the team's total number of accredited specialist legal practitioners to 17 within an overall team of 36 lawyers.
Partner and National Practice Group Leader of the Family & Relationship Law team, Mark Parker, said "having 17 Accredited Specialists within our team means that we now have the greatest number of Family Law Accredited Specialists in any one firm nationally, which reflects the level of experience and expertise our group offers, as one of the most experienced and the largest family law group in Australia".
Significantly, the Family & Relationship Law Group, which has offices in both Melbourne and Sydney, has a spread of Accredited Specialists in both states, who work as part of our national and international offering.
What is the accreditation process?
To become an Accredited Specialist in Family Law, a lawyer must have a minimum of five years of experience as a practising lawyer, with a focus on the practice of Family Law. The process involves a rigorous assessment of the lawyer’s written work, a “mock file” involving complex legal issues, an assessment of the lawyer’s client interviewing skills, and an extensive exam covering all areas of family law. All applicants must also submit references from other senior practitioners (outside the individual lawyer's firm) to support their application.
The accreditation process is regulated by the legal professional bodies in the relevant states, and incorporates recognition by peers and testing by experienced legal practitioners, specifically chosen by each professional body, to approve the accreditation of each candidate. For our clients, this means that we offer the highest level of specialised and pre-eminent family law advice.
The Accredited Specialists recognised this year continue to reinforce the pre-eminent standing of the Family & Relationship Law Group at Lander & Rogers, and its recognition both nationally and internationally
