Lander & Rogers recently hosted a lunch for CEOs of Victorian State Sporting Organisations with the Hon John Eren MP, Minister for Sport, Tourism and Major Events.

During lunch, the Minister discussed:

  • funding to major facilities in regional Victoria;
  • the International Champions Cup Australia and the results of the Victorian Government's Economic Impact Study into the benefits from hosting the Cup in 2015;
  • the Victorian Government's initiatives for female participation in sport; and
  • the role of sports clubs as a safe haven for children and communities (in the context of child safe sport and the Royal Commission into Child Sexual Abuse).

Head of Lander & Rogers' Sports Business Group, Ian Fullagar, said, "This informal and interactive session is a regular event which we have run for our clients for many years. Our clients really value hearing from the Minister on issues of relevance to the Victorian sports industry."

Special Counsel, Amelia Lynch added that, "This lunch offers sporting organisations the opportunity to network with each other and discuss current issues facing sports. It also offers the Minister an opportunity to hear the views of sporting organisations firsthand."
