Lander & Rogers to open permanent Sydney family law practice
Lander & Rogers will operate a permanent Family & Relationship Law practice in Sydney as of 1 February 2016.
Co-Head of Family & Relationship Law, Mark Parker, said, "Our practice has been well established in Melbourne for 25 years, but we also have operated more broadly across the Eastern Seaboard from our firm's offices in Sydney and Brisbane.
"Sydney is well known as an expat hub with a large, mobile population and also for its strong LGBTI community, and our team does a lot of work with both these groups. Over the years, we have been experiencing increased levels of demand for our services in Sydney, and senior members of our team have been spending significant amounts of time there, so we decided it was high time for us to have a permanent presence in the Sydney market."
Mr Parker said that the Sydney practice would be led by Special Counsel, Jodylee Bartal and supported by Senior Associate Tim Gough, and that he and other Family & Relationship Law Co-Head, Craig Henderson, will also spend regular time in the Sydney practice.
"Jodylee is one of our most experienced family lawyers and an LIV Accredited Family Law Specialist, who has championed the growth of our F&RL practice in Sydney during the past 12 months. This is an exciting opportunity for Jodylee, Tim and the team and we are looking forward to exploring the opportunities presented by our practice there," Mr Parker said.
Ms Bartal said, "Having a permanent presence in Sydney is necessary given the high level of work we already undertake there and is a logical next step, given our firm's national presence.
"Our Sydney team will continue to focus on delivery of specialised family law advice across all facets of family and relationship law, with a particular focus on complex corporate property work and with a real drive towards achieving mediated, rather than litigated, outcomes for clients.
"We plan to grow our Sydney team and are already actively recruiting for senior and junior family law operators to join our practice."
