Professional biography

Emma specialises in financial lines insurance litigation.

In the professional indemnity space, she defends financial service participants including: accountants, financial planners, product issuers, tax agents, stockbrokers, insurance brokers and AFSL holders. Emma also acts on behalf of professionals involved in property and construction claims, including architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and building professionals.

Emma's practice also covers director's and officers' claims and representative proceedings, in which she has acted as coverage counsel for several years. Her clients include major local insurers and London insurers.

Emma is located in Melbourne and has also practised in Sydney and Brisbane. She continues to act across all three jurisdictions.

Emma is known for calmly guiding insureds through the challenges of dispute resolution and litigation. She is passionate about providing direct and commercial advice.

Emma's areas of expertise include:

  • employment practices liability;
  • class actions;
  • Federal Corrupt Practices Act investigations; and
  • product liability and international recalls.

Prior to joining Lander & Rogers in 2010, Emma was based in Hong Kong where she worked as a commercial litigator for an international law firm.

Emma was admitted to practice in Victoria in 2005 and in Hong Kong SAR in 2008.
