Peter Willcocks


Professional biography

Peter is a highly regarded and accomplished business adviser and legal practitioner. In his 35 years in practice he has spent periods in-house in various corporate roles, most recently as Company Secretary and General Counsel for an ASX listed biotechnology company. Peter's clients range from publicly listed companies (both in Australia and overseas) to owner-operated private companies across a broad spectrum of industries. He has acted in a number of high calibre major transactions including in complex acquisitions and disposals and corporate restructuring. Peter regularly presents to industry on a diverse range of topical issues.

Peter's areas of expertise include:

  • capital and debt raisings and securities advice;
  • prospectuses and product disclosure statements;
  • Corporations Act advice;
  • project financing, debt and securities transactions;
  • commercial contracts, including technology, licensing, sales and joint venture agreements;
  • mergers and acquisitions;
  • directors’ duties and shareholders’ rights;
  • ASX Listing Rules advice;
  • corporate governance;
  • business structuring;
  • employee share and option plans;
  • foreign investment and international trade; and
  • biotechnology and intellectual property transactions.

Peter was admitted to practice in 1974, and joined Lander & Rogers in 1998.

He is recognised in the 2018 - 2019 editions of Best Lawyers in Australia for his expertise in Corporate/Governance Practice.
