Phillip specialises in developing procurement methodologies and contractual terms which satisfy government policy requirements, providing solid protection and meeting with the approval of central government agencies, whilst at the same time ensuring the active and enthusiastic support of the marketplace. Phillip also undertakes strategic review and outcome analysis of construction disputes.
Phillip's client base includes a significant portfolio of government departments and agencies, including Victorian School Building Authority, Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning, Development Victoria, Port of Melbourne, Department of Health & Human Services, Kardinia Park Stadium Trust, and many of Australia's largest private sector companies such as Coles, Myer, Colonial First State and Grocon.
Phillip is recognised in Expert Guides - Best of the Best, Chambers & Partners Asia-Pacific, Chambers & Partners Global, Who's Who Legal, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers as a leading construction lawyer. He is one of only five practitioners in Australia invited to join the International Academy of Construction Lawyers, and is an Enterprise Fellow (Melbourne Law Masters) and long-time Guest Lecturer at the University of Melbourne. Phillip is also a founding board member of the Society of Construction Law Australia, a long-time member of the International Construction Projects Committee of the International Bar Association, and a long-time member of the Building Dispute Practitioners’ Society.
