Wellbeing

At Lander & Rogers, we believe the strength of our practice is underpinned in the wellbeing of our people. To deliver exceptional service and maintain the tenacity our profession requires, we must first nurture the physical, emotional, and mental health of every individual in our firm.

Explore our programs and initiatives below, which are designed to celebrate and bolster the wellbeing of those who make our success possible.

Resilience

Since 2018, we've been focused on building the resilience of our people — a crucial skill for coping with life's inevitable obstacles.

Partnering with The Resilience Project, the holistic program has delivered inspiring presentations, a bespoke on-demand webinar series, an on-line wellness resource portal, access to resilience journals, and regular communications to educate and engage our people.

The impact of the program has been outstanding. The Resilience Project founder, Hugh van Cuylenburg, has presented a number sessions with over 80% of our people taking part.

Expanding the positive results, we have also shared the powerful resilience principles and resources with over 200 clients, and 300 of our family, friends and community partners.

Recognition

Recognising the impact of our holistic focus on the wellbeing of our people, clients and community, we are the proud recipients of numerous commendations including:

  • Wellness Initiative of the Year | 2019 Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards
  • Excellence in Employee Health & Wellbeing Award | 2019 Australasian Law Awards

WELL

Lander & Rogers' Melbourne office is WELL Certified™ Platinum in recognition of our commitment to delivering a healthy, sustainable and innovative workplace for our people, with plans to have our Brisbane and Sydney offices certified in future.

The WELL Building Standard is an innovative evidenced-based global benchmark for measuring, certifying and monitoring workplace design and policies to enhance wellbeing at work. Delivered by International WELL Building Institute pbc™ (IWBI), the rating system focuses on 10 key concepts including air, water, nourishment, physical movement, light, thermal comfort, sound, building materials, mind and community.

Although the accreditation specifically applies to the Melbourne office in the newly redeveloped Olderfleet building at 477 Collins Street, Melbourne, wellness initiatives have largely been rolled out to each of our offices nationally.

The focus on wellness is designed to address and reduce the factors that contribute negatively to individual wellbeing, and to deliver programs and support that enhance productivity and work-life satisfaction.

Our holistic approach to wellness operates across five pillars including:

  • physical health
  • mental fitness
  • community and belonging
  • purpose, meaning and transparency
  • personal safety

Wellness-focused benefits include hybrid working, caring and parental leave policies; access to wellbeing sessions and 24/7 counselling; subsidies for physical wellbeing activities including Pilates, yoga and massages; annual flu vaccinations and subsidised skin checks; indoor plants and natural building materials; thermal comfort aids; air and water filtration systems; ergonomic height-adjustable desks, chairs and curved monitors; noise cancelling headsets; fresh fruit, nutritious snacks and transparency of ingredients, and more.
