Andrew has over 24 years' experience in litigation. He is recognised for his expertise in regulatory law and his litigation experience in:
- administrative law;
- professional indemnity;
- property and construction claims;
- consumer and product liability claims; and
- commercial disputes.
Andrew has acted in a number of contractual disputes concerning commercial property and infrastructure projects, as well as challenges of valuation and land resumptions. He has also acted in competition and consumer law claims, in particular concerning the property and retail sectors.
He acts for government bodies, legislative bodies and commercial clients in administrative review matters. Andrew has also acted in:
- environmental prosecutions; and
- public health and safety prosecutions.
Andrew has extensive experience in disciplinary proceedings concerning health and other professions. He also acts in sporting disciplinary matters. Andrew acts for a number of regulatory bodies in prosecutions and administrative review proceedings. He has advised on their scope of these bodies' regulatory powers and functions.
Andrew has acted for parties called before public inquiries, including the Dr Patel and Bundaberg and other Hospitals Inquiry, and the Queensland Flood Commission Inquiry. He has conducted factual investigations for regulatory bodies, including conducting an independent inquiry into an outbreak of the Hendra virus.
Andrew is recognised in the 2016 - 2019 editions of Best Lawyers in Australia for his expertise in Regulatory Practice.
