Julian has acted for many blue chip companies and high-profile organisations in the resources, manufacturing, financial services, medical research and education sectors. He also acts for individuals and in pro bono matters.
Julian has practised exclusively in workplace relations law since the early 1990s. He also practises as a mediator and workplace investigator.

Julian's experience includes advising:
- the Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE in a landmark case in its successful appeal to the High Court of Australia (the first adverse action claim under the Fair Work Act to be determined by the Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia)
- AMCOR Limited in its successful case before the High Court of Australia in a case concerning transmission of business and redundancy payments
- senior executives in relation to their employment contracts, entitlements and restraint of trade issues.
