Dominic is a senior associate in our corporate practice group with experience in banking and finance, and foreign investment across various industries.

Experience

Dominic is a senior associate in our finance practice group, advising clients on a broad range of local and cross-border banking and finance matters, including acquisition and leveraged finance, real estate finance and general corporate lending across all major sectors and industries.

Dominic has developed a good understanding of clients’ commercial needs and is strategic and pragmatic in his approach to financing transactions. In addition, he has demonstrated an excellent track record of conceptualising and presenting complex legal issues to internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Career highlights

Dominic's career highlights include advising and acting for:

  • Pro-invest Group on various senior and mezzanine acquisition and development facilities with both bank and non-bank lenders, including green loans with international property specialists Aareal Bank AG, to build their property portfolio of over 30 Holiday Inn Express and in relation to other boutique hotels across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Canberra and South Australia
  • several health and life science startups from the USA, including Doron Therapeutics and RheumaGen, on the issue of loan notes in Australia to benefit from the Australian Taxation Office's research and development tax incentives
  • JY Group on the financing for a number of acquisitions, including their A$195 million acquisition of a 50% share in Westfield Whitford City and A$135.5 million acquisition of a 50% interest in Sydney Warriewood Square
  • Third.i Group, a leading Australian property development company on its A$120 million facility to build and construct apartment buildings in New South Wales
  • Gurner Group, an Australian property development company, on various acquisition and development facilities, including a A$44.5 million facility with National Australia Bank Limited for its Wellness business
  • Amber Group in relation to various financings for its portfolio of boutique hotels in Victoria
  • Singapore-based Straits Real Estate in the acquisition of Adelaide real estate developer C&G’s interest in the ILP industrial fund joint venture between the two parties
  • Singapore fund manager ARA Asset Management on the Australian law aspects of its acquisition of a majority interest in Asia Pacific logistics specialists LOGOS
  • various foreign listed and unlisted companies including ARA Asset Management, CapitaLand Limited, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, DCI Data Centres, dnata, and Straits Real Estate in relation to proposed acquisitions of Australian assets and shares in Australian entities as well as acting for these clients on Foreign Investment Review Board applications.
