Lander & Rogers wins Excellence in Employee Health & Wellbeing at Australasian Law Awards
We are delighted to announce that Lander & Rogers was named a winner at the 2019 Australasian Law Awards for Excellence in Employee Health & Wellbeing!
Lander & Rogers has a long-term commitment to the wellbeing of its people and is focused on enabling them to bring their best selves to work, both personally and professionally. With alarming figures for mental health across Australia and in the legal industry, it was important for us to create a wellbeing program that would have an impact.
In 2018, we focused on resilience — a crucial skill for coping with life's inevitable obstacles — and partnered with The Resilience Project to launch a year-long program that would support our people.
The holistic program has included inspiring presentations, a bespoke digital series, a new Wellness Portal, access to resilience journals, and regular engaging communications.
The impact of the program within our firm has been outstanding. The Resilience Project founder, Hugh van Cuylenburg, has now presented five sessions with our firm and our wider community, sharing the powerful resilience principles with family, friends, clients, and community partners of Lander & Rogers — we felt that it was important to share the lessons with all those around us as we know that this will have the strongest impact for everyone.
We are incredibly proud of the recognition that we have received for the program and for the important commitment that we have made to our people and our wider community. We are very grateful to have The Resilience Project as our partner and truly appreciate their contribution to this success.
The Australasian Law Awards bring together 600 industry leaders to celebrate excellence in the legal profession, recognising leading firms, in-house legal teams, and others in the profession for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.
The Excellence in Employee Health & Wellbeing award was judged on the quantity, quality, impact, and innovativeness of a firm's employee health and wellbeing initiatives during the last year.
The firm was also named a finalist for the Corporate Citizen Firm of the Year Award, which looks at the firm’s sustainability, community, diversity and inclusion, and corporate social responsibility initiatives during 2018. Our submission included our South Sudanese Business Response initiative and the Women's Legal Service Victoria #SmallClaimsLargeBattles project, as well as our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion.
