Yesterday, Consultant and member of our Japan Client Group, the Hon. Andrew Thomson, launched his first non-fiction book: Bridge to the Gods: Tales from Kyushu. Sir Rod Eddington AO, chairman of the Australia-Japan Business Cooperation Committee introduced the book and spoke about the special relationship which exists between Australia and Japan.
In this engaging book, Thomson covers yakuza gangsters, the arrival of tea, rice and Christianity in Japan, North Korean missiles, James Bond's Japanese adventure, Kyushu’s unique cuisine, rural life amid a declining population, and the threat from China – it has been described as one of the best books about Japan in decades!
