Lander & Rogers is proud to support National Reconciliation Week 2018 (NRW). NRW runs annually from 27 May to 3 June and commemorates two significant milestones in Australia's reconciliation journey — the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision.
The theme for this NRW is “Don’t Keep History A Mystery: Learn. Share. Grow”. Our firm believes that with a better understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, each of us can help advance reconciliation in our country. We are taking this opportunity to encourage learning and recognition within the firm by sharing some of the work completed as part of our RAP, and by hosting a firm-wide screening of acclaimed Song Keepers across our three offices, which tells the story of an Aboriginal women's choir and their cultural survival, identity, and cross-cultural collaboration with Germany and the world.
Our firm has committed to promoting reconciliation and contributing to Australia’s effort to close the gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community. Through our second Reconciliation Action Plan, we seek to support the increase in representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, organisations, and businesses within the Australian legal profession, and the broader Australian business sector.
