Senior Associate

Lana is a Senior Associate in Lander & Rogers' Insurance Law & Litigation group, focusing on public and product liability, property damage, and recovery claims. She advises Australian and London-based underwriters, as well as domestic corporate clients and individuals on litigation, indemnity, liability, quantum and reserving, contribution and recovery, and commercial settlement opportunities.


Prior to joining Lander & Rogers Lana was a Senior Claims Consultant for the Lloyd's of London specialty markets, as well as the self-insured mutual for local government in New South Wales. Lana also practised as a solicitor in property and commercial litigation.

In addition to having experience in claims, Lana was an integral part of a Local Council Governance Unit, advising on a range of matters relating to litigation, insurance, governance and conduct compliance, and risk management and audit. Lana's areas of expertise include:

Lana's experience includes:

  • managing litigation, including preparing pleadings and evidence, advising clients regarding strategy, engaging in settlement negotiations and conferences, and appearing before the NSW courts
  • managing short and long-tail public liability claims, including complex personal injury and property damage claims brought against councils, shopping centres, clubs and bars, sporting clubs and gyms, and logistics warehouses
  • advising insurer clients on policy coverage/indemnity, liability, quantum, and settlement strategies
  • representing insureds in personal injury claims arising from slip and falls, trip and falls, accidents on construction sites, accidents involving companion animals, and claims arising from residential premises
  • managing insurer recoveries arising from a range of claims, such as property (commercial and industrial), fire and water-related events, commercial and other motor, and construction
  • investigating and negotiating dual insurance claims, assisting in class actions for catastrophe events, and assisting in a coronial inquests arising from fatalities
  • advising corporate executive teams on risk assessment and management strategies
