Independent Australian law firm Lander & Rogers announced today the appointment of five additional workplace relations and safety (WR&S) specialists to its national market-leading team. All five appointees are Sydney-based and have joined Lander & Rogers from Henry Davis York.

The new appointees are:

  • Sally Moten — Special Counsel
  • Sophie Bonnette — Lawyer
  • Adam Battagello — Lawyer
  • Coral Yopp — Graduate
  • Daniela Paloso — Paralegal & Migration Agent

Today’s announcement follows the recent appointments of highly-regarded WR&S practitioners Tony Woods and Stephen Jauncey, who joined the firm earlier this month. Both partners are also Sydney-based and have joined from Henry Davis York.

Daniel Proietto, Partner and Head of Lander & Rogers' national WR&S practice, said the appointment of the seven new team members within weeks has effectively doubled Lander & Rogers’ Sydney-based WR&S team and significantly increased the firm’s national footprint, which is now comprised of 35 experts in all aspects of workplace relations, employment, and safety law.

“It was an unsurpassable opportunity to have this great team of people, all of whom know one another and work well together — and who are an excellent fit with our own culture and values — join our own top-notch team.

“Increasing our bench strength even further with the appointment of these exceptional practitioners will enhance our client service offering, and enable us to add further value to other clients across the firm who may not already benefit from our excellent WR&S proposition”, said Mr Proietto.

He went on to say that Landers’ WR&S practice had seen substantial growth in recent years, with more upside to come as clients seek first-rate advice and guidance as they navigate Australia’s increasingly complex and challenging employment law landscape.

“Specific areas of growth relate to our core sectors of focus: education, retail, and government in particular.

“Tony, Stephen, Sally, and their team bring significant expertise in these sectors, and their arrival will continue to enhance our fiercely independent reputation when advising across all tiers of Government and public sector clients.

“The recruitment of this team goes a long way towards our goal of being the leading workplace relations and safety practice in Australia”, he went on to say.
