FAQs

Where do I start?

Taking the first step can feel daunting, and finding the courage to start the process is a significant step in itself. We are here to guide you through the process. All you need to do is fill in a short form, located here and we will be in contact with you to arrange a complimentary and confidential 15-minute call. From there, we will help you understand your options and guide you through next steps, including making referrals to any other professionals you may wish or need to see.

Does engaging lawyers mean that my matter is in Court straight away?

In most cases, Court is a last resort.

Our focus is on helping you resolve your family law matter without going to Court, where it is safe and appropriate to do so. This approach is not only practical but also encouraged by the Family Law Act, which expects parties to make a genuine effort to resolve disputes before starting legal proceedings.

Before any application to Court is filed, we will assist you by explaining your rights and responsibilities, helping you gather information to make informed decisions, communicate with the other party and explore options such as negotiation, mediation or family dispute resolution.

These steps are designed to reduce conflict, save time, legal costs and ultimately help parties reach workable agreements without the stress and formality of litigation.

However, where an issue cannot be resolved in this way, or where urgent or serious Court intervention is required, we will guide you through the Court process and represent your interests accordingly.
