Brandon joined the Insurance Law & Litigation team at Lander & Rogers in July 2019. He specialises in insurance, litigation and dispute resolution across all Australian jurisdictions. Brandon is a trusted adviser for his clients and is known for his advocacy skills − achieving beneficial commercial results particularly in sensitive and complex personal injury and regulatory matters.

Experience

Brandon specialises in sensitive personal injury and regulatory matters providing advice on public liability, professional indemnity and coverage. Brandon regularly appears in NSW, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. Relevantly, he has acted for:

  • Australian and overseas insurers
  • religious institutions
  • sporting organisations/clubs
  • service providers within the educational sector (including early childcare, as well as primary and secondary schools).

Brandon was previously appointed as an Associate to Queensland District Court Judge J.A. Ryrie from 2012 to 2016, and as an Associate to Queensland Industrial Relations Commissioner C.G.L Roney in 2017. These positions have given Brandon expansive civil and criminal advocacy experience.

  • faith based, educational and sporting organisations/clubs in NSW, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia defending personal injury claims arising out of allegations of abuse and bullying, together with advising on risk management issues concerning child safety
  • health practitioners in defending regulatory and disciplinary actions as well as public liability/professional indemnity claims
  • an electricity contractor in defending a large class action claim arising out of a major bush fire event
  • major construction contractors defending claims arising from worker to worker injuries on large development sites, usually involving multiple subcontractors
  • compulsory third party insurers in relation to motor vehicle claims
  • an urban design and planning company defending a claim arising from personal injury said to have been caused by playground equipment.
