Juliana Hasham

Juliana is a Senior Associate in Lander & Rogers' Digital Economy practice who advises a broad range of clients, including both domestic and multi-national companies, start-ups, not-for-profit organisations and public sector bodies.

Juliana has experience in advising clients on technology outsourcing and procurement, complex commercial contracts, data protection and privacy compliance, Australian consumer law issues, and the development, protection and commercialisation of intellectual property.

This work includes drafting, negotiating and advising on a broad range of commercial contracts, including software as a service, intellectual property assignment and licensing, and services agreements.

Experience

Juliana's experience includes advising:

  • New South Wales Treasury on significant IT procurement related projects. This work involved drafting master services agreements, agency level agreements and supporting the negotiation process
  • a major Australian health provider on the procurement of a cloud data platform for the storage of personal and sensitive health information. This work involved reviewing and advising on a master software as a service agreement with a focus on pertinent technology, privacy and data security issues
  • Basketball NSW on the procurement of a software-as-a-service platform. This work involved drafting and advising on a system implementation and services agreement
  • a major not-for-profit organisation on the development, configuration and implementation of a customer relationship management platform solution. This work involved preparing and negotiating an agile development and implementation services agreement
  • a large multinational aviation company and a large multinational food delivery company on a broad range of commercial contracts and Australian law issues. This work involved drafting and reviewing a large number of commercial documents, procurement contracts and services agreements, and advising on privacy, Australian consumer law, and other specific Australian law issues.
  • the NSW Ministry of Health on its trade mark registrability prospects, and preparing and submitting the trade mark application with IP Australia
  • a large multinational agricultural company on a range of commercial contracts, including its professional services consultancy agreements, and transport service provider terms and conditions
  • an ASX-listed mining and mineral processing company on its arrangements for the provision of technical services. This work involved preparing and advising on a technical services agreement.
  • a major energy brokerage service provider on a broad range of commercial contracts and specific Australian law issues. This work involved reviewing a large number of services agreements and procurement contracts and advising on privacy, intellectual property, and other key commercial issues
  • a major not-for-profit organisation on its partnership and sponsorship arrangements
  • an Indigenous not-for-profit organisation in relation to the development of an e-commerce platform. This work involved drafting a platform user agreement, preparing website terms of use and a privacy policy.

Career highlights

Juliana has completed two NSW Government secondments, the first with the Australian Museum (operating under the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport), and most recently with the NSW Ministry of Health. During these secondments, Juliana work included preparing, and advising on, a broad range of inter-governmental agreements and commercial agreements with third parties, preparing funding agreements, and advising on the tender and procurement process.
