Sebastian is a Senior Associate in Lander & Rogers’ Insurance Law & Litigation group. He advises domestic and international insurers on casualty, public and product liability, property damage, and historical/institutional matters.

Before joining Lander & Rogers, Sebastian practised at a national insurance firm as a senior associate and, before that, served as in-house counsel at an Australian bank and insurance company.

  • acting in defence of a major national retail organisation across multiple workers’ compensation and common law claims in NSW and the ACT
  • acting in defence of personal injury claims arising in the context of a goods distribution centre
  • successfully defending a damages claim by a worker arising from a workplace assault committed by a third-party contractor
  • advising and acting for insurers on claims involving catastrophic injuries
  • defending a storage business against multiple customer claims for total loss of goods following a neighbouring fire, with no settlements paid
  • acting for an insurer in successful proceedings to recover money paid out to a fraudulent claimant
  • acting as coverage counsel, both in litigated and unlitigated matters, for insurers and underwriters on contested indemnity and coverage decisions
